Synopsis:

In Malaysia and Singapore, “ondeh-ondeh” refers to a dessert of glutinous rice balls coated with fresh desiccated coconut. Its pandan flavoured skin wraps semi melted palm sugar that would burst upon the first bite. But as with most folksongs, there is a hidden meaning behind the seemingly simple lyrics – a declaration of love between two lovers.
